Product Marketing Manager, pay.com.au
Melbourne. Newly created role at one of the hottest scale-ups in the country.
About the role
Product Marketing Manager, New Products
pay.com.au | Melbourne, hybrid | Full time, permanent
Every business pays the ATO, runs payroll, covers super, settles supplier invoices and pays rent. Almost none of it earns anything. pay.com.au changes that. Businesses route those payments through one platform, by card or bank transfer, even where the supplier does not take cards, and earn points on money that was already going out the door.
Revenue grew from $33.2 million to $73 million in a year. The business placed third in Deloitte Australia's 2024 Technology Fast 50 on 2,256 per cent three-year growth, and an oversubscribed $40 million round in June valued it at $753.4 million.
The role
pay.com.au was built around a single core product. It is now expanding into new product lines, and this is the first dedicated product marketing role in the business.
The role owns new verticals from launch through to scale. Get Paid and FX to start, growing to three or four by June 2027. For each one: who the customer is, what the story is, how it goes to market, and how it keeps growing after launch. It also owns the marketing numbers for those verticals, including activated customers and the revenue behind them.
Marketing is organised by function into Growth, CRM, Brand & Comms, and Digital & CRO. Those teams deliver. This role sets the direction for its verticals and organises people who do not report to them around common goals. It reports to the Brand & Communications Manager and works closely with Product, with full access to the roadmap, customer research and funnel data.
The work is hands-on. Writing briefs, drafting page copy and digging into funnel data are all part of the job.
