About the role

Merry People is an Australian-founded direct-to-consumer footwear brand best known for its waterproof boots, designed for everyday use across work, travel and outdoor life. The business sells primarily online and operates across Australia, the UK and the US, with international markets representing a growing share of revenue.

The company has grown significantly in recent years through digital acquisition, product expansion and strong customer loyalty. With acquisition now well established, the next phase of growth is focused on increasing repeat purchase rate, customer lifetime value and the overall performance of CRM.

Merry People is now hiring a Retention Marketing Manager to own CRM and lifecycle marketing across email and SMS.

The Role

This role is responsible for retention and CRM across all markets and will own email and SMS performance end-to-end. The role sits within the eCommerce team and works closely with Brand, Performance Marketing and Merchandise to ensure CRM activity aligns with product launches, seasonal demand and marketing campaigns.

This is a hands-on role in a growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for both strategy and execution.

Responsibilities
  • Own and manage email and SMS marketing across all markets
  • Plan and execute weekly campaign calendars
  • Build and optimise lifecycle flows (welcome, browse abandon, cart abandon, post-purchase, win-back, etc.)
  • Develop and manage customer segmentation across lifecycle stage, behaviour and geography
  • Run A/B tests across subject lines, content, timing and segmentation
  • Report on CRM performance, including revenue contribution, engagement and repeat purchase behaviour
  • Work closely with Brand and Performance teams on campaign planning and audience strategy
  • Align CRM activity with product launches, seasonal peaks and inventory availability
  • Identify opportunities to improve repeat purchase rate and customer lifetime value
  • Support growth of the email and SMS database
About You
  • 3+ years experience in retention, lifecycle or CRM marketing
  • Experience working in an eCommerce or direct-to-consumer business
  • Strong hands-on experience with Klaviyo or a similar ESP
  • Experience building lifecycle flows and segmentation strategies
  • Comfortable analysing performance data and running experiments
  • Able to manage campaign planning and execution end-to-end
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with brand, digital and commercial teams
  • Happy working in a hands-on role in a growing business
